A Point of View on Accessorizing

This is actually a part of the upcoming series on "Do you wear clothes, or do the clothes wear you!". However, I was feeling so strongly about this idea today, that I had to definitely write this down here.
This season, as the past few seasons, is the season of chunky accessories, specially chunky jewelry. One of the fashionable ways to dress up has been to wear monotone clothing and accessorize with chunky jewelry or a bright scarf. Concentrating on the chunky, there is a simple but important rule to this. Each of these pieces is gorgeous in itself. But the idea is that the whole outfit has to come together as a unit, and more importantly, the function of any piece of clothing is that it should fit YOU, it should fall in line with your personality and complement it. So the chunky piece of jewelry that is really pretty in itself, also has to fit in with your outfit to create a beautiful whole. One thumb rule when doing chunky is to not to overdo it. So generally, just do one gorgeous piece. You may choose just a gorgeous big necklace on a monotone
dress, or a couple of complementary necklaces together. In this case, keep the other accessories really toned down, smaller and tinier. So that ways, the chances of any set of clothing or accessories wearing you rather than the other way round are really cut down. Similarly, if you are doing a huge and beautiful chandelier earring set, you may choose to not do a necklace altogether. That ways, you create a beautiful focal point, a theme to the dress, and not make the whole thing too busy. And some how when you keep things a bit pared down, it is more sexy! It is also more controlled, so the message is that you are in control! And so you will feel grreat, and that would exude through your eyes and your smile. And then you are ready to go out into the world, and proclaim your victory!
